 Welcome to Planning Explorer – giving you access to information held by Planning Services on recent and current planning applications in Kennet.

The information is taken directly as a live link from the Council’s computerised planning application system.  

Explorer will provide brief details of all applications received by the Council since May 2004. It will also provide access to images of copies of the application forms and plans for all applications registered since December 1st 2005 and copies of decision notices for all applications determined since December 1st 2005. The scanned images are held as pdf files, except for some earlier ones that are in Tif format.  If your computer cannot open and view these files, suitable software that will do so can be downloaded from the Internet.

For planning applications received since January 1st 2007, consultation responses and representations received have also been copied and can be viewed online. 

Information is updated on a daily basis. Application forms and plans are copied within one working day of the application being registered and are available online before consultations are sent out. Consultation responses and representations are similarly added on a daily basis within one working day of receipt.  

Plans, drawings and material submitted to the council are protected by the copyright acts (section 47, 1988 act). You may only use material which is downloaded and/or printed for consultation purposes, to compare current applications with previous schemes and to check whether developments have been completed in accordance with approved plans. Further copies must not be made without the prior permission of the copyright owner.

Use the menu on the left to find your way around Planning Explorer.

Quick Search provides a choice of four options. If you know the reference number of the application, choose the Specific Application option. If you want to do a wider search to look at all the undetermined applications in the district, go to New Applications and leave the parish setting at the default <all>. For a look at the decisions made by the Council, choose the Recent Decisions option and select the number of days you wish to call up. From each of these options, you can discover more details of the application (including its progress; view and download a copy of the documents submitted; comment on undetermined applications; and where decided, view and download a copy of the decision notice) by clicking on the reference number.

General Search enables you to find details of applications using other criteria, such as the name of an applicant or the date range when an application was made or determined.

Planning Explorer enables you to:

• See lists of recent applications received and decisions made.
• View the details of an application, such as what is proposed and who has submitted it.
• See which neighbours have been notified and who has been consulted.
• View and download the plans and documents.
• Send your comments on a current application to us via email.
• Track the progress of an application and, via the link on the left, appeals.
• View and download a copy of the decision notice.
